Safety first: Repeated breaker trips indicate a fault. Do not keep resetting without investigation.
- Isolate the charger: Ensure the JuiceBox is on a dedicated circuit with no other loads. Remove any other devices from the same breaker.
- Visual inspection (power OFF): Open the unit and look for obvious shorts, burned insulation, or loose wires touching the enclosure.
- Inspect J1772 cable: Check for cuts, crushed sections, or melted areas. Replace the J1772 charge cable assembly if damaged.
- Test insulation (advanced): A qualified technician can perform an insulation resistance test between conductors and ground to locate leakage.
- Breaker sizing: Confirm that the breaker rating matches the charger's maximum current and that the app setting does not exceed 80% of breaker rating. If the breaker is undersized, have it and the wiring upgraded.
