Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around JuiceBox enclosure, High ambient temperature exceeding rating, Failed internal temperature sensor, Loose or overheated input terminals causing localized heating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the enclosure feels very hot to the touch, stop using the charger and turn off power at the breaker until it cools and is inspected.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the JuiceBox (per installation manual). Remove any objects blocking airflow or covering the unit.
- Check for direct sun exposure: If installed outdoors, consider shading the unit from direct midday sun, which can push internal temperatures beyond limits.
- Inspect for hot spots (power OFF): After turning off the breaker and allowing the unit to cool, open the cover and look for browned plastic, melted insulation, or darkened PCB areas near the input terminals and contactor. Tighten any slightly loose terminals and replace any obviously damaged terminal blocks or wiring.
- Clean dust buildup: Use dry compressed air to gently blow dust off the control board and internal components, which can trap heat.
- Persistent E07 at normal temperatures: If the unit reports overtemperature even when cool to the touch, the internal temperature sensor on the main control board may be defective. Board replacement is recommended via a qualified technician.
