Possible Causes

Faulty PWM generation on main control board, Damaged pilot resistor network in J1772 handle, Electrical noise or interference on pilot line, Vehicle requesting unsupported current level

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before opening the unit or handling internal wiring.

  • Reset charger and vehicle: Power-cycle the JuiceBox at the breaker and reboot the vehicle (lock/unlock or power cycle). Retry charging.
  • Check app current setting: Ensure the maximum current configured in the JuiceBox app matches the circuit rating and is within the vehicle's supported range.
  • Inspect pilot wire and connector: With power OFF, check the pilot pin in the J1772 connector for damage or contamination. Clean gently if needed. Inspect the cable for cuts or kinks that could affect the pilot conductor.
  • Test with another vehicle (if possible): If E11 only occurs with one vehicle, the issue may be with that vehicle’s onboard charger. If it occurs with multiple vehicles, suspect the J1772 cable assembly or main control board.
  • Board replacement: Persistent E11 with a known-good cable and vehicles typically indicates a defective PWM generator on the main control board, requiring professional replacement.
