Possible Causes

Failed RTC chip on main control board, Depleted RTC backup battery (if present), Loss of internet time synchronization, Firmware bug affecting timekeeping

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Most time-related troubleshooting can be done without opening the unit. If opening, turn off power at the breaker.

  • Check internet connectivity: Ensure the JuiceBox is online (Wi-Fi/Ethernet). Without internet, it may not be able to sync time.
  • Verify time zone and schedule: In the app, confirm the correct time zone is set and that scheduled charging windows are configured properly.
  • Power-cycle and resync: Turn the breaker OFF for 2 minutes, then ON. Allow the charger to reconnect to the network and sync time.
  • Firmware update: Check for and apply any available firmware updates via the app, which may fix RTC issues.
  • Hardware RTC failure: If E17 persists and schedules drift or fail even with good connectivity, the RTC circuit on the main control board may be defective, requiring board replacement.
