Possible Causes
Incompatible or outdated firmware on JuiceBox, Vehicle-specific communication quirk, Electrical noise on pilot line, Faulty pilot driver or sensing circuit on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening the unit. Do not attempt to modify vehicle wiring.
- Try another vehicle: If possible, test the JuiceBox with a different EV. If E18 only occurs with one model, consult both JuiceBox and vehicle manufacturer for compatibility notes.
- Update firmware: Use the app to check for and install the latest JuiceBox firmware, which may include protocol fixes.
- Inspect pilot wiring: With power OFF, verify that the pilot conductor is securely connected at the control board and that the cable shows no damage.
- Reduce electrical noise: Ensure the JuiceBox supply wiring is not bundled tightly with high-noise loads (e.g., large motors). If it is, reroute if possible.
- Board replacement: Persistent E18 with multiple vehicles and a good cable suggests a defective main control board.
