Possible Causes

Defective RFID reader module, Damaged front panel or antenna, Loose ribbon cable between RFID reader and main control board, Corrupted authorization configuration on KEBA controller

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the front cover or accessing internal electronics.

Step-by-step checks:

  • 1. Test multiple RFID cards: Try several known-valid RFID cards or tags that are registered in the KEBA system. If none are recognized, suspect the reader or configuration.
  • 2. Check operating mode: Using the KEBA configuration interface (app, DIP switches, or web interface depending on model), verify that the charger is set to the correct authorization mode (RFID enabled/disabled, plug & charge, etc.).
  • 3. Inspect front panel: Look for cracks, impact damage, or signs of water ingress around the RFID area. Physical damage can break the antenna.
  • 4. Internal cable check (power off): Open the housing and locate the RFID reader module and its cable to the main control board. Reseat the connector and inspect the cable for kinks or cuts.
  • 5. Firmware/config reset: If allowed by KEBA, perform a configuration reset or firmware update to clear possible software corruption. Follow KEBA's official procedure.
  • 6. Replace reader module: If wiring and configuration are correct but E06 persists, replace the RFID reader module or the entire front panel assembly as specified for your KEBA model.

Keep RFID cards away from strong magnetic fields and do not stick metal objects over the reader area.
