Possible Causes

Damaged housing gasket, Loose or improperly sealed cable glands, Cracked enclosure, Installation in area with extreme condensation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Moisture inside an EV charger is hazardous. Switch off power immediately and do not use the charger until it is fully dried and repaired.

Steps:

  • 1. De-energize and open: Isolate power and carefully open the housing. Avoid dripping water onto live parts.
  • 2. Dry the interior: Gently dry visible moisture with lint-free cloths. Allow the unit to air dry in a warm, dry environment for at least 24 hours. Do not use high heat.
  • 3. Inspect seals and glands: Check door gaskets, front panel seals, and all cable glands for damage or improper tightening.
  • 4. Replace damaged parts: Replace defective housing gasket, front cover, or cable glands with KEBA-approved parts.
  • 5. Check for corrosion: Inspect PCBs and terminals for corrosion. Clean minor corrosion; replace heavily affected boards or connectors.

After reassembly, perform an insulation resistance test before re-energizing the charger.
