Kia home charger shows E07 and the vehicle will not charge; sometimes accompanied by a clicking sound.

Safety first: A missing or faulty ground is a serious shock hazard. Do not use the charger until the earth connection is verified and repaired.

• 1. Visual inspection: Check that the green/yellow earth conductor is present at the charger and not visibly damaged where it enters the enclosure.
• 2. Professional earth test: Have an electrician perform an earth continuity and impedance test from the charger back to the main earthing point. Any high resistance or open circuit must be corrected.
• 3. Tighten earth terminal: With power off, the electrician should tighten the earth terminal screw inside the charger and at the breaker panel.
• 4. Check for corrosion: In outdoor installations, look for rust or corrosion on the earth bar or terminal. Clean or replace corroded hardware as needed.
• 5. Ground monitoring circuit: If the earth tests good but E07 persists, the ground monitoring circuit on the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
