Possible Causes

Stuck or damaged touch buttons on Kia charger front panel, Moisture ingress into keypad area, Faulty display/keypad PCB, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Always isolate mains power before removing the front cover or display panel.

  • 1. Clean the front panel: Wipe the keypad area with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use solvents or excessive moisture.
  • 2. Power-cycle: Turn off the charger at the breaker for a few minutes, then restore power. Sometimes a frozen UI recovers after a reboot.
  • 3. Check for condensation: If the front panel appears foggy or has water droplets, power off the charger and allow it to dry completely before reuse.
  • 4. Internal cable check (technician): With power off, a technician can remove the front panel and verify that the ribbon cable between the keypad/display PCB and main board is fully seated and undamaged.
  • 5. Replace keypad/display PCB: If buttons remain unresponsive or E16 persists, replace the keypad/display PCB with a Kia-approved part.
