Possible Causes
Failed low-voltage power supply module on Kia charger main board, Blown internal fuse feeding control electronics, Short circuit on low-voltage rail due to damaged component, Surge damage to auxiliary supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Internal power supplies are connected to mains. Do not attempt component-level repair unless you are qualified.
- 1. Check for life signs: Observe whether any LEDs, display, or fans power up when the breaker is turned on. If the unit is completely dead, E20 may be logged internally.
- 2. Verify breaker and upstream power: Ensure the EV charger breaker is on and not tripped. Test for voltage at the input terminals (electrician only).
- 3. Internal fuse check (technician): With power off and cover removed, a technician can check internal fuses on the control board and power board. Replace only with identical rated fuses.
- 4. Replace auxiliary supply / main board: If the low-voltage supply is defective, the recommended repair is to replace the main control board or dedicated auxiliary power module as specified by Kia.
