How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker and wait several minutes before opening the unit. Capacitors may retain charge.
- 1. Power-cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON. Some transient faults clear after a full discharge of internal capacitors.
- 2. Inspect for surge damage: With power OFF and cover removed, look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or a burnt smell on the main control board. Check any internal fuses (if user-serviceable) with a multimeter for continuity.
- 3. Check surge protection: If the charger is not on a surge-protected circuit, consider adding a whole-house surge protector or dedicated surge device for EVSE.
Resolution: If an internal fuse is blown, replace it only with the exact same type and rating specified by Lectron. If it blows again or visible board damage is present, the main control board or entire EVSE must be replaced by a qualified technician.
