Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker before opening the unit. Do not touch internal components with power applied.
- 1. Listen and locate: With the cover on, identify whether the noise is continuous or intermittent and from which area of the unit it originates.
- 2. Check supply voltage: Have an electrician measure voltage at the Lectron input while charging. Low voltage can cause contactor chatter.
- 3. Inspect contactor wiring: With power OFF, open the unit and ensure the small control wires on the contactor coil are tight and undamaged.
Resolution: If buzzing persists at normal voltage with secure wiring, replace the Lectron main power contactor. Prolonged chatter can lead to contact welding and failure.
