Possible Causes

Damaged J1772/CCS charge handle proximity/pilot pin, Faulty pilot signal driver circuit on control board, Loose low‑voltage harness between control board and front interface PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the dedicated breaker to the Lucid home charger and verify no power is present with a non-contact voltage tester before touching wiring or opening the unit.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Inspect the charge handle: Examine the J1772/CCS connector pins, especially the small pilot and proximity pins. Look for bent, recessed, corroded, or contaminated pins. Clean gently with electrical contact cleaner and a soft brush; do not file or sand the pins.
  • Check the cable strain relief: Ensure the output cable where it enters the Lucid wall unit is not sharply bent or crushed. A damaged cable can break the pilot conductor internally.
  • Power-cycle the charger: With the breaker OFF for at least 60 seconds, then ON again, allow the Lucid charger to fully boot and retry plugging into the vehicle.
  • Verify vehicle side: Test the Lucid charger with a second Lucid vehicle or another EV (if supported) to rule out a vehicle charge-port issue.
  • Internal harness check (advanced): If comfortable and qualified, remove the Lucid charger front cover (after power is OFF). Inspect the low-voltage harness from the main control board to the front interface PCB and pilot output terminals for loose connectors or damaged wires. Reseat connectors firmly.

When to stop: If E01 persists after these checks, the pilot driver circuit on the control board is likely faulty. Do not bypass or jumper pilot wiring. Contact a qualified technician or Lucid support for control board replacement.
