Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the charger breaker. Do not continue trying to charge if a ground fault is suspected; risk of electric shock.
Steps:
- Inspect for moisture: Check the charge handle and vehicle inlet for water, condensation, or road salt. If wet, gently dry with a clean cloth and allow several hours in a dry environment before retrying.
- Check cable and handle: Run your hand (with insulated gloves) along the Lucid charger output cable. Look for cuts, abrasions, or crushed sections. If any damage is visible, discontinue use.
- Reset the charger: With the breaker OFF for 2–3 minutes, then ON, wait for the Lucid charger to complete its self-test. Attempt a charge again.
- Test a different circuit (if portable variant): If using a plug-in Lucid home charger, try a known-good outlet on a dedicated circuit to rule out house wiring issues.
- Internal inspection (qualified only): With power OFF and cover removed, inspect the ground fault sensor ring (CCID coil) around the output conductors on the Lucid power board. Look for signs of burning, cracked plastic, or loose connectors.
If E02 remains: The internal ground fault detection module on the Lucid power board may be defective. Do not bypass the GFCI/CCID. Arrange for replacement of the Lucid power board by a qualified technician.
