Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker immediately. Overcurrent faults can indicate serious internal damage.
Steps:
- Inspect output cable: Look for crushed, cut, or melted insulation along the Lucid charger cable. If any damage is found, do not use the charger.
- Try lower current setting: If the Lucid charger allows adjustable current via app or front panel, reduce to a lower amperage (e.g., from 48A to 32A) and test. If it works at low current but trips at high, internal power electronics may be marginal.
- Test with another vehicle: Rule out a vehicle-side short by testing with a different EV if available.
Technician checks:
- With power OFF and cover removed, inspect the Lucid power board for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or charred traces.
- Check all high-current connections (output lugs, contactor terminals) for tightness and overheating signs.
Resolution: If E05 persists and no external cable damage is visible, the Lucid power board or entire power module likely needs replacement. Do not attempt component-level repair unless authorized and qualified.
