Possible Causes

Degraded insulation in output cable, Moisture inside Lucid power module, Faulty isolation monitoring sensor on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker. An insulation fault can be hazardous.

Steps:

  • Inspect cable and handle: Look for any damage or signs of overheating on the Lucid output cable and connector.
  • Dry the unit: If the charger is in a damp area, allow it to dry out for 24 hours. Check for condensation inside the housing (technician).
  • Test with another vehicle: Rule out a vehicle-side insulation issue by testing with a different EV if possible.

Technician actions:

  • Perform insulation resistance testing on the output conductors with a megohmmeter, following Lucid service guidelines.
  • If cable tests good, suspect the isolation monitor circuit on the Lucid control or power board and replace as a module.

Resolution: Do not bypass isolation monitoring. Replace the affected Lucid module or cable assembly as required.
