Possible Causes
Broken proximity switch in Lucid charge handle, Damaged proximity wire in output cable, Corroded connector pins in handle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power before inspecting the handle wiring.
Steps:
- Check latch operation: Squeeze and release the latch on the Lucid connector. It should move freely and fully return. If sticky, clean with a dry cloth; do not lubricate with oil.
- Inspect pins: Look closely at the small proximity pin for damage or heavy corrosion. Clean with electrical contact cleaner.
- Cable strain: Ensure the cable is not pulling heavily on the handle; repeated strain can break the proximity conductor.
Technician actions:
- Perform continuity testing on the proximity circuit from the Lucid control board to the handle.
- If open or intermittent, replace the Lucid output cable and handle assembly.
Resolution: After replacing or repairing the handle assembly, clear E14 by power-cycling and test with a vehicle.
