Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker. Do not continue to operate a chattering contactor; it can overheat.
Steps:
- Listen for chatter: Confirm rapid clicking from the Lucid charger when attempting to start.
- Inspect terminals: With power OFF, tighten all high-current lugs on the contactor and output terminals to Lucid-specified torque.
- Check supply voltage: Ensure the branch circuit is not undersized or overloaded, causing voltage dips when the contactor closes.
Resolution: If chatter continues, replace the Lucid main contactor or power module. If low control voltage is suspected, the control board may also need replacement.
