Possible Causes

Worn or contaminated contacts in Lucid charge handle, Loose crimp or screw connection in handle, Undersized or damaged output cable conductors

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Stop charging immediately and turn OFF the breaker. Overheated connectors can melt or ignite.

Steps:

  • Visual inspection: Look for discoloration, melting, or deformation on the Lucid handle and cable near the handle.
  • Clean contacts: If only light discoloration is present, clean the connector pins with electrical contact cleaner and a lint-free cloth.
  • Reduce current: Temporarily lower the maximum current in the Lucid app and monitor temperature during a short test session.

Resolution: If overheating recurs, replace the Lucid output cable and handle assembly. Do not continue using a connector that has been significantly overheated.
