E06 appears and charging stops; often associated with high ambient temperature or direct sun exposure.

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the charger to cool before inspection. Components may be hot.

• Check installation environment: Ensure the Mennekes wallbox has adequate clearance around vents and is not installed in a confined, unventilated space. Remove any obstructions (boxes, debris).
• Inspect vents and filters: Clean dust and debris from ventilation slots using a soft brush or vacuum. Do not use compressed air directly into electronics.
• Cooling fan check (if present): Power on briefly and listen for fan operation. If the fan does not run when the unit is hot, test and replace the fan module.
• Temperature sensor: Many Mennekes chargers use NTC sensors attached to the power module or contactor. Verify the sensor is firmly attached and wiring is intact. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range per service data.
• Check for hot spots: Look for discolored terminals or melted insulation on high-current paths. Tighten or replace overheated components.

After corrective actions, clear the error by power-cycling and monitor operation during a full charging session.
