Possible Causes
Faulty RFID reader module, Damaged RFID antenna, Corrupted user authorization list, Communication error between RFID module and main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: De-energize the charger before removing front covers or RFID modules.
- Test with multiple cards: Try more than one authorized RFID card or tag to rule out a defective card.
- Check card database: For Mennekes chargers with configuration software or app, verify that the card IDs are correctly stored and not expired or disabled.
- Inspect RFID reader: Examine the reader window for cracks, moisture, or physical damage. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.
- Module connection: Open the unit and check the low-voltage connector between the RFID reader and the main control PCB. Reseat the connector and inspect for bent pins.
- Firmware / configuration reset: If supported, perform a configuration reload or firmware update to restore the authorization database.
If the reader still fails to detect any card, replace the RFID reader module.
