Possible Causes
Jammed mechanical lock pin in Type 2 socket, Failed lock actuator motor or solenoid, Broken lock position sensor, Misaligned socket housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before attempting to free a jammed lock. Do not force the plug out with excessive force.
- Check for foreign objects: Inspect the Type 2 socket for debris or damage around the locking slot. Remove any obstruction carefully.
- Manual release: Many Mennekes sockets have a manual emergency release accessible from inside the housing. Follow the service manual to operate it and free the plug.
- Inspect actuator: With the cover removed, observe the lock actuator while applying a start/stop command (with power on, qualified person only). If the actuator does not move or makes abnormal noise, replace the lock actuator assembly.
- Position sensor: Check wiring to the lock position microswitch or sensor. Replace if the sensor does not change state when the lock moves.
