Possible Causes
Incorrect user authorization (RFID not presented), Vehicle timer or charge schedule active, Weak contact on CP or PP pins, Misconfigured maximum current setting on charger
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal work is required initially; keep covers closed.
- Check user authorization: On access-controlled Mennekes chargers, present a valid RFID card or follow the start procedure described in the user manual.
- Verify vehicle settings: Check the EV’s dashboard or app for delayed charging timers or charge limits that may prevent immediate charging.
- Reseat plug: Unplug and firmly reinsert the Type 2 connector until it clicks. Ensure it is fully engaged.
- Adjust charger settings: If you have access to the installer menu, confirm that the maximum current and phase configuration match the installation and vehicle requirements.
If the issue persists with multiple vehicles and correct operation, contact a technician to check CP/PP circuits and internal configuration.
