• Check installation location: Ensure the wallbox is not installed in direct sunlight without shading or in a confined space without airflow. Clear any objects blocking vents or cooling slots.
• Inspect for dust buildup: Open the housing and gently remove dust from vents and around the control board using a soft brush or low-pressure compressed air. Avoid touching electronic components directly.
• Verify current setting: Using the Mercedes-Benz wallbox configuration (DIP switches, rotary selector, or app, depending on model), confirm that the maximum charging current is set according to the circuit rating (e.g., 16 A on a 16 A circuit). Overstating the current can cause overheating.
• Temperature sensor check: If the unit reports E06 immediately after power-up at normal ambient temperature, the internal temperature sensor may be defective. This requires control board or sensor replacement by a technician.
• Re-test: After cleaning and adjusting settings, reassemble, restore power, and monitor a full charging session. If E06 recurs, schedule service.
