Possible Causes

Open or defective cover interlock switch, Misaligned tamper switch actuator in Mercedes-Benz wallbox housing, Damaged interlock wiring to control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: The tamper switch prevents operation with the cover removed. Never bypass it permanently.

  • Check cover fitment: Ensure the front cover is correctly seated and all screws are tightened so that the tamper switch actuator is fully engaged.
  • Inspect switch: With power off and cover removed, locate the tamper switch. Check for physical damage or misalignment.
  • Adjust actuator: If the actuator tab on the cover is bent or misaligned, gently adjust it so it reliably presses the switch when the cover is installed.
  • Wiring check: Verify that the tamper switch wiring harness is securely connected to the control board.
  • Switch replacement: If the switch does not change state when pressed, it may be defective and should be replaced.
