Possible Causes

Defective vehicle inlet lock actuator feedback, Misaligned Type 2 connector in vehicle inlet, Faulty interlock monitoring circuit on Mini charger PCB, Damaged interlock wiring harness inside charger

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: This fault often involves the vehicle side, but basic checks on the charger can be done.

  • Reseat connector: Unplug and firmly reinsert the Type 2 connector into the vehicle until you hear/feel the lock engage. Slight rotation while inserting can help alignment.
  • Check for mechanical obstruction: Inspect the vehicle inlet and connector for debris, ice, or foreign objects that could prevent the locking pin from moving.
  • Power cycle charger and vehicle: Turn off the Mini charger at the breaker for 60 seconds. Lock and unlock the vehicle, then restore charger power and try again.
  • Inspect charger interlock wiring (advanced): With power OFF and cover removed, locate the interlock harness from the relay block to the main PCB (often a small 2–4 wire connector). Ensure it is fully seated and not damaged.

If CP003 remains, the issue is likely with the vehicle’s inlet lock actuator or the charger’s interlock circuit. Do not bypass any safety interlocks. Contact Mini service for diagnostic and component replacement.
