Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation openings on Mini wallbox enclosure, High ambient temperature exceeding design limits, Failed internal cooling fan (if equipped), Faulty temperature sensor on power module or main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not cover or obstruct the charger. Overheating can cause permanent damage.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure there is clear space around the Mini charger as specified in the installation manual (typically several centimeters on all sides). Remove any objects, boxes, or covers blocking airflow.
  • Inspect for direct sun/heat: If the charger is installed in direct sunlight or near a heat source, consider shading or relocating. High ambient temperatures can trigger E03.
  • Allow cooldown: Turn off the charger at the breaker and let it cool for at least 30–60 minutes. Then restore power and attempt charging again.
  • Listen for fan (if model has one): During charging, a small internal fan should run. If you do not hear it and E03 occurs, the fan may have failed. Fan replacement requires opening the unit and should be done by a technician.
  • Check for dust buildup (technician): With power OFF and cover removed, inspect the power module heat sink and fan for dust. Clean gently with compressed air while avoiding damage to components.

Repeated E03 events at normal ambient temperatures indicate a failing temperature sensor or power module. Contact Mini service for diagnostic and replacement.
