Possible Causes
Failed temperature sensor on power module, Poor thermal contact between module and heatsink, Dust-clogged heatsink fins, Defective power module in Mini charger
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the charger to cool before touching internal components.
- Check ambient conditions: Ensure the charger is not installed in a confined, unventilated space exceeding the specified ambient temperature.
- Power down and inspect (technician): With power OFF and cover removed, inspect the power module heatsink for dust buildup. Clean with compressed air.
- Check sensor wiring: Locate the temperature sensor leads from the power module to the main PCB. Ensure connectors are secure and not damaged.
- Thermal interface check: If the module has been replaced previously, verify that proper thermal paste or pads are installed and that mounting screws are torqued correctly.
If E16 persists, the power module assembly may need replacement.
