Mini Wired Network Port Fault

Mini EV Home Charger Ethernet connection not detected by router/switch

Advertisements

Possible Causes

Damaged Ethernet cable, Loose RJ45 connector at charger, Faulty Ethernet PHY on communication module, Incorrect network configuration (VLAN, DHCP off)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: Only for models with Ethernet port.

  • Test cable: Replace the Ethernet cable with a known-good one and check if link LEDs light up on the router/switch.
  • Check port LEDs: Look for link/activity LEDs near the charger’s Ethernet port (if present). No lights may indicate no link.
  • Network settings: Ensure the router has DHCP enabled or configure a static IP in the Mini charger settings.
  • Internal port check (technician): With power OFF, inspect the Ethernet jack solder joints and connection to the communication module.

If the port remains dead with known-good cabling and network, the communication module may require replacement.
