How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Poor connection can cause overheating at the plug.
- Inspect latch: Check that the latch button moves freely and that the latch hook is not broken or bent.
- Clean connector: Remove visible dirt or debris from the plug and latch area with a soft brush and dry cloth.
- Check for deformation: Look for melted or warped plastic around the pins. If present, stop using the connector.
- Lubrication: Do not use oils or grease on electrical connectors. If mechanical sticking persists, the connector should be replaced.
Have a technician replace the Type 2 connector or entire cable assembly if latching remains unreliable.
