Zappi displays E011, charging disabled, often associated with PEN/earth monitoring on TN-C-S supplies

Critical safety warning: A PEN fault can make all earthed metalwork live. Do not bypass this protection.

• 1. Stop using the charger: Do not attempt to charge until the supply has been checked by a qualified electrician.
• 2. Verify supply type: Confirm with your installer and documentation whether your installation is TN‑C‑S, TN‑S, or TT, and ensure the Zappi is configured accordingly.
• 3. Electrical inspection: Have an electrician test for neutral integrity and earth potential rise at the property. Any supply-side PEN issues must be reported to the DNO/utility.
• 4. Check bonding: Confirm main protective bonding to gas, water, and structural steel is intact and correctly sized.
• 5. Reset and retest: After any supply-side repairs, power-cycle the Zappi and test. If E011 persists with a verified-good supply, the internal PEN detection module may be faulty.
• 6. Do not defeat PEN protection: Never link neutral and earth or alter internal wiring to clear the error. Replace the faulty detection circuit or main PCB instead.
