Possible Causes
Failed LCD backlight, Damaged display ribbon cable, Moisture ingress behind front panel, Faulty display driver on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before removing the front cover.
- 1. Power-cycle: Turn the Zappi off and on to see if the display recovers.
- 2. Inspect display connection: With power off, remove the front cover and check the ribbon cable between the display and main PCB. Reseat it carefully.
- 3. Check for moisture: Look for condensation or water marks behind the display window. Dry thoroughly if present and improve weather sealing if needed.
- 4. Use app as workaround: If the myenergi app still communicates, you can temporarily control the charger while arranging repair.
- 5. Replace display or PCB: If the LCD remains blank, the display module or its driver on the PCB may need replacement.
