Nissan charger shows E06 and stops charging; may occur when other large loads in the home switch on.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the breaker before tightening any wiring. Use insulated tools and follow local electrical codes.
- Check other loads: Note if E06 occurs when HVAC, ovens, or dryers start. This suggests voltage sag from overloaded circuits or service.
- Inspect wiring size: Confirm the cable gauge feeding the Nissan EVSE matches the installation manual for the breaker rating and run length.
- Tighten terminations: With power OFF, remove the EVSE cover and gently tug each conductor at the line terminals. Retighten any loose lugs to the specified torque. Also check the breaker lugs in the panel (electrician recommended).
- Test voltage under load: Have an electrician measure voltage at the EVSE while charging. If it drops below the minimum spec, upgrade wiring or reduce circuit loading.
If supply voltage is stable and within spec but E06 continues, the internal sensing circuit on the control board may be defective and require replacement.
