Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: A missing ground is a serious shock hazard. Do not use the charger until ground continuity is restored.
- Visual ground check: With power OFF, open the EVSE and locate the green or bare ground conductor. Ensure it is securely landed on the ground terminal and that the terminal is tight.
- Panel inspection: Have an electrician verify that the ground conductor is properly connected at the service panel and that the grounding electrode system is intact.
- Corrosion check: Look for rust or corrosion on the ground bar or terminal screws. Clean or replace as needed.
- Continuity test: A qualified technician should perform a ground continuity test from the EVSE chassis back to the main panel ground.
If the physical ground path is confirmed good but E12 remains, the internal ground monitoring circuit on the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
