Possible Causes
Disconnected Ethernet cable or weak Wi‑Fi signal on Nissan connected charger, Faulty communication module inside EVSE, Router or firewall blocking outbound connections, Firmware bug in Nissan network stack
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Network issues do not usually affect electrical safety, but always follow electrical safety when opening the unit.
- Check physical connections: For Ethernet-connected Nissan chargers, ensure the RJ45 cable is fully seated at both the EVSE and router/switch. Replace damaged cables.
- Wi‑Fi signal: For Wi‑Fi models, verify the charger is within range of the access point. Consider relocating the router or adding a Wi‑Fi extender.
- Router settings: Ensure the router allows outbound connections on required ports (consult Nissan documentation). Disable overly strict firewall rules temporarily for testing.
- Reboot network and EVSE: Power-cycle the router, then turn the EVSE breaker OFF for 1 minute and back ON. Check if E13 clears.
If E13 persists and local charging still works, the communication module or firmware may need service or update from Nissan support.
