Possible Causes
Failed current transformer (CT) inside Nissan EVSE, Loose CT wiring to control board, Calibration data corruption, Damaged metering IC on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker and verify absence of voltage before opening the EVSE. CTs are around live conductors.
- Inspect CT connections: Locate the current transformers clamped around the line conductors. Ensure their low-voltage leads are firmly connected to the control board.
- Check for physical damage: Look for cracked CT housings or pinched CT wires.
- Reset meter data: If supported, use the app or service interface to reset metering calibration or clear meter errors.
- Test basic charging: If the car charges normally but metering is wrong, you may continue to use the charger while arranging service for the metering fault.
Persistent E20 with incorrect readings usually requires replacement of the CTs or control board.
