Possible Causes
Blocked airflow around charger body, Coiled cable trapping heat, High ambient temperature near maximum rating, Degraded thermal interface material on internal heat sink
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Overheating can lead to internal damage and fire risk. If the housing is too hot to touch comfortably, stop charging.
- 1. Improve placement:
- Lay the NRGkick on a hard, non-flammable surface with space around it.
- Avoid placing it on carpets, foam, or inside enclosed boxes.
- 2. Uncoil the cable:
- Fully uncoil the charging cable to prevent heat buildup.
- 3. Reduce current:
- Use the app to lower the charging current and monitor temperature.
- 4. Check for external heat sources:
- Keep the charger away from direct sunlight, heaters, or exhaust vents.
- 5. If overheating persists at low current and good ventilation:
- Internal thermal management (heat sink, thermal pads) may be compromised.
- Contact NRGkick support for inspection; internal rework may be required.
