Charger refuses to start; app or LEDs indicate E03 related to ground/earth fault or missing protective earth.

Safety first: A missing or faulty earth connection is dangerous and can cause electric shock. Do not bypass earth protection.

• 1. Test a different outlet:
  • Unplug the NRGkick and connect it to another known-good, properly earthed outlet or CEE socket.
  • If E03 disappears, the original outlet likely has an earth wiring issue.
• 2. Inspect plug and adapter:
  • Check the earth pin on the CEE/Schuko plug and any NRGkick adapter for corrosion, bending, or damage.
  • Ensure the adapter is fully seated and locked into the charger body.
• 3. Check cable integrity:
  • Visually inspect the entire length of the cable for cuts or crushing that could damage the PE conductor.
  • If the cable has been run over or pinched, discontinue use.
• 4. Verify installation (fixed socket):
  • Have a licensed electrician test the outlet with a proper tester (loop impedance, RCD test).
  • Correct any wiring faults (missing earth, reversed conductors, loose terminals).
• 5. If E03 persists on multiple outlets:
  • The internal earth monitoring circuit or PE connection inside the NRGkick may be defective.
  • Do not open the unit unless qualified; contact NRGkick or an EVSE service center for internal inspection and repair.
