Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation around charger, High ambient temperature exceeding rating, Failing internal temperature sensor, Overheating of main contactor or power electronics

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Warning: Overheating can lead to fire risk. If the unit feels very hot or smells of burning plastic, isolate immediately.

  • 1. Check installation environment: Ensure the charger is not enclosed in a small, unventilated cupboard or covered by objects. There should be free airflow around the casing.
  • 2. Shade from direct sun: If installed outdoors in direct sunlight, consider adding a shade or canopy (without blocking ventilation) to reduce solar heating.
  • 3. Allow to cool: Turn off power at the isolator and let the charger cool for at least 30–60 minutes. Then restore power and check if E07 clears.
  • 4. Reduce charge current: In the Ohme app, temporarily reduce the maximum current (e.g. from 32A to 16–20A) and see if the charger operates without overheating.
  • 5. Technician inspection: If E07 recurs at normal ambient temperatures, a technician should open the unit to check for dust buildup, poor thermal contact, or a failing temperature sensor on the main PCB or contactor block.
