Possible Causes
Faulty auxiliary contacts on main contactor, Broken feedback wiring harness, Fault in contactor feedback input on main PCB, Mechanical sticking of contactor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: This fault relates to the main power switching device. Only qualified personnel should open the charger.
- 1. Power reset: Turn off the charger at the isolator for 1–2 minutes, then restore power and attempt a charge.
- 2. Listen for contactor click: When starting a charge, listen for a clear click. No click or repeated clicking may indicate a mechanical or coil issue.
- 3. Do not tap or strike the unit: Hitting the charger to 'free' a stuck relay is unsafe and can cause further damage.
- 4. Technician diagnosis: A service technician can open the unit, check the auxiliary feedback contacts on the contactor, verify continuity of the feedback harness, and test the input circuitry on the main PCB. Replacement of the contactor or main board is often required.
