Possible Causes
Failed locking motor/solenoid, Jammed locking pin due to debris, Faulty lock position sensor, Broken wiring to lock actuator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not force the plug out of the socket; this can damage both the charger and cable.
- 1. Stop charging: Use the app or vehicle to stop the charge session, then wait for the charger to attempt to unlock.
- 2. Listen for lock movement: You should hear a small motor or click. No sound may indicate actuator failure.
- 3. Power-cycle: Turn off the charger at the isolator for 1 minute, then back on and try to lock/unlock again via the app.
- 4. Inspect socket (power off): With power isolated, look into the Type 2 socket for foreign objects or visible damage around the locking pin area.
- 5. Technician service: A technician can access the locking actuator, clear any obstruction, test the motor/solenoid, and replace the lock assembly or sensor if required.
