Possible Causes
Welded main contactor contacts, Faulty contactor feedback auxiliary contact, Control board sensing circuit failure, Severe overcurrent event history
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the charger at the breaker and verify absence of voltage before opening the enclosure.
- Visual inspection: Remove the front cover and locate the main output contactor. Look for signs of overheating, discoloration, or melted plastic.
- Mechanical test: With power off, gently press the contactor armature (if accessible) to check for free movement. A welded contactor may feel stuck or immovable.
- Check feedback wiring: Verify that the small control and feedback wires on the contactor are firmly connected to the Polestar control board and that no terminals are loose.
- Replace if welded: If the contactor shows signs of welding or overheating, replace it with the exact Polestar‑specified contactor model. This should be done by a qualified technician due to the high currents involved.
- Board evaluation: If the contactor is mechanically sound but E07 persists, the feedback sensing circuit on the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
