Possible Causes
Depleted RTC backup battery on control board, Corrupted time settings, Loss of NTP/time server connectivity, Faulty RTC chip on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Most time‑related checks can be done without opening the unit. Only open the charger if you are qualified.
- Check time settings: Using the Polestar app or local interface, verify that the charger’s date, time, and time zone are correct. Correct any errors and save.
- Network time sync: Ensure the charger has internet access so it can synchronize with a time server. Fix any network issues first.
- Power cycle: Turn the breaker off for 1 minute, then back on. Recheck time and scheduled charging behavior.
- RTC battery/module: If the time resets after every power loss, the RTC backup battery on the main control board may be depleted. A technician can replace the battery or the entire board as required.
