Possible Causes
Jammed or broken locking actuator, Misaligned connector holster or latch, Faulty lock position sensor, Loose wiring to lock actuator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before working near the connector lock mechanism. Do not force the connector out of the vehicle.
- Inspect lock area: Check the connector holster and locking area for debris, ice, or foreign objects. Gently remove any obstruction.
- Listen for actuator: With power on, start and stop a charging session while listening for the lock actuator. If there is no sound, the actuator may not be receiving power or may be failed.
- Check wiring: With power off and cover removed, locate the lock actuator wiring harness and ensure the connector is fully seated on both the actuator and the control board.
- Manual release: If the connector is stuck in the vehicle, consult the vehicle manual for emergency release procedures. Do not pry on the connector.
- Replace actuator: If the actuator is jammed or the position sensor is faulty, replace the Polestar connector lock actuator assembly.
