Possible Causes
Failed internal kWh meter module, Loose CT (current transformer) connections, Open or shorted current sensor, Faulty metering interface on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: De‑energize the charger before accessing internal metering components.
- Check display/app values: Compare the charger’s reported current and energy with the vehicle’s display. Large discrepancies may indicate a metering issue.
- Inspect CT connections: Inside the Polestar charger, locate the current transformers or shunt connections on the power module. Ensure all low‑voltage metering wires are firmly connected to the main control board.
- Look for physical damage: Check CTs for cracks or signs of overheating. Replace any damaged current sensor assemblies.
- Module replacement: If wiring is intact but E17 persists, the internal meter module or the metering section of the control board may need replacement by a technician.
