Possible Causes
Failed internal RCD module, Tripped RCD that will not reset, Wiring error bypassing RCD, Faulty RCD test circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not bypass or defeat the RCD. Turn off the supply breaker before opening the charger.
- Attempt reset: If the Polestar charger has an RCD test/reset button, press reset after ensuring there is no active fault (dry connector, no visible damage).
- Inspect RCD module: Inside the charger, locate the RCD or differential current sensor. Check for burn marks, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Verify wiring: Ensure that all live and neutral conductors pass through the RCD sensor as designed and that no unauthorized modifications have been made.
- Replace module: If the RCD will not reset or E19 persists, replace the Polestar RCD module or the combined RCD/power module assembly according to manufacturer instructions.
