• Check installation location: Ensure the wallbox is not installed in direct sunlight or in a confined space without airflow. Porsche chargers require adequate clearance around the housing.
• Inspect ventilation: Clean any dust, cobwebs, or debris from ventilation slots using a soft brush or vacuum. Do not spray liquids into the unit.
• Check for obstructions: Make sure no objects are stored directly against or on top of the charger that could trap heat.
• Short test at cooler time: Try charging during a cooler part of the day. If E05 does not appear, ambient temperature may be a factor; consider shading or relocating the unit (by a professional).
• Technician internal check: A technician should open the wallbox and inspect power terminals, busbars, and the main contactor for signs of overheating. Tighten loose terminals and replace any discolored or damaged components. The technician should also test the internal temperature sensor on the main control PCB and replace the board if the sensor is faulty.
