Possible Causes
Broken daisy-chain communication cable between Porsche wallboxes, Incorrect master/slave role configuration, Faulty communication port on one wallbox, Incorrect termination or addressing in multi-wallbox setup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to all wallboxes in the cluster before modifying communication wiring.
- Check daisy-chain cabling: Inspect the interconnecting communication cables between wallboxes for damage, loose connectors, or incorrect wiring order.
- Verify configuration: Access each wallbox configuration and confirm that exactly one is set as master and the others as slaves, with unique addresses where required.
- Isolate faulty unit: Temporarily disconnect one wallbox at a time from the communication bus to see if E14 clears, identifying a potentially defective unit.
- Check termination: Ensure that termination resistors are installed only at the ends of the communication bus, as specified by Porsche.
- Technician port test: If a specific wallbox appears to disrupt communication, a technician should test its communication port and replace the main control PCB if the port is defective.
