Possible Causes
Defective internal RCD test circuit, Stuck RCD mechanism inside wallbox, Faulty RCD trip coil, Wiring error between RCD module and main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: RCD faults are critical safety issues. Do not use the charger until the RCD is verified and repaired by a qualified electrician.
- Do not bypass RCD: Never bridge or bypass the RCD to restore operation.
- Technician inspection: A qualified electrician should open the wallbox, identify the integrated RCD module, and perform manual trip tests using the test button (if present) and external test equipment.
- Check wiring: Verify that line and neutral conductors pass correctly through the RCD module and that the trip coil wiring to the main control PCB is intact.
- Replace RCD module: If the RCD does not trip correctly or the self-test circuit is defective, replace the entire RCD module or main control PCB assembly as specified by Porsche.
- Full safety test: After replacement, perform a complete RCD and insulation resistance test on the installation before returning the charger to service.
