Possible Causes
Charging authorization via RFID or app not completed, Porsche wallbox set to scheduled charging only, Load management limit reached preventing start, Vehicle not fully inserted or locked into Type 2 connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This is typically not an electrical fault, but always handle the cable and connector with dry hands.
- Check connector insertion: Ensure the Type 2 plug is fully inserted into the vehicle inlet until it clicks and the vehicle indicates that the connector is locked.
- Verify authorization: If your Porsche wallbox uses RFID, present an authorized card and wait for confirmation (LED color or display message). In app-controlled systems, start the session from the Porsche app.
- Review schedules: In the wallbox or vehicle settings, disable delayed or scheduled charging and attempt an immediate charge.
- Check load management: If the wallbox is part of a load management system, verify that the configured maximum current has not been reached by other loads or wallboxes.
- Reboot both sides: Power cycle the wallbox and, if possible, restart the vehicle’s infotainment/charging system, then retry.
